Fairy tales, folklore and mythology often play an important role in art. Many artists draw inspiration from their own culture. The Russian doll maker Tatyana Gavrilova is one of them. She started making dolls and toys about eight years ago after she attended a doll show. She was so surprised and impressed by what she saw that it took her a long time to recover from the impressions.
All she wanted was to try and make a doll with her own hands. Having a curious mind, she started exploring different techniques in the attempt to find the most suitable one for her. Tatyana is completely self-taught, she has never attended any workshops and acquired all her knowledge and skills by herself.
She is fond of Russian fairy tales and often recreates their protagonists such as Baba Yaga, Kikimora, and Koschei the Immortal. The world of Harry Potter is another great source of inspiration for Tatyana. One of her favourite characters is Dobby, the house elf. She confesses that she is filled with with the warmest and kindest feelings when she creates it. She always tries to infuse her creations with love, kindness and positivity into my works so that they bring joy to their new owners.

Pohádky, folklór a mytologie často hrají v umění důležitou roli. Mnoho umělců čerpá inspiraci ze své kultury. Ruská tvůrkyně panenek a hraček Tatyana Gavrilova je jednou z nich. Tvořit začala před osmi lety poté, co se zúčastnila výstavy panenek. Byla tak překvapená a ohromená tím, co tam viděla, že jí trvalo poměrně dlouho, než se ze všech těch dojmů vzpamatovala.
Zatoužila si vyrobit nějakou panenku vlastníma rukama. Je velmi zvídavá, proto začala zkoumat různé techniky a hledat tu, která by jí vyhovovala nejvíc. Tatyana je samouk, nikdy nenavštívila žádný kurz a všechny znalosti a dovednosti získala postupem času úplně sama. Říká, že naprosto zbožňuje to, co dělá a už si svůj život bez tvoření nedokáže představit.
Má velice ráda ruské pohádky a v její tvorbě často najdeme jejich nejznámější protagonisty jako třeba Babu Jagu, Kostějě Nesmrtelného či domácího ducha Domovoje, známého též jako Kikimora. Dalším zdrojem inspirace je pro Tanyu svět Harryho Pottera. Obzvlášť ráda má domácího skřítka Dobbyho. Svěřuje se, že když ho tvoří, je vždycky naplněna vřelostí a laskavostí. Lásku, dobrotu a pozitivní myšlení vkládá do všech svých bytostí, aby poté mohly dělat radost svým novým majitelům.
