Julia Zhilenkova is not a full-time artist, creating with polymer clay is a leisure time activity for her, but her artwork is definitely on a professional level. Her creative process is very intuitive, she hardly ever sketches her designs or remembers particular colour recipes.
Her jewellery is often rustic it has a distinctly ethnic feel about it. Julia loves African art and often creates pieces inspired by African culture. She also loves patterns and textures. Her pieces show off her great sense of form and shape. She hates to repeat herself and always tries to come up with something new and original.
In her new collection, which was also created spontaneously, Julia experiments mostly with botanic prints and geometric patterns. here’s a good sense of contrast and great design as usual. We also love the colour combinations. Julia says that she just wanted to try new textures, stencils and techniques.

Julia Zhilenkova není umělkyní na plný úvazek, tvoření s polymerem je pro ní pouze koníčkem, ale její tvorba rozhodně na profesionální úrovni je. Její tvůrčí proces je velmi intuitivní, téměř nikdy si své nápady neskicuje a obvykle si ani nepamatuje, jak namíchala konkrétní barvy svých šperků.
Její šperky jsou často rustikální, se silně etnickým nádechem. Julia miluje africké umění a často tvoří šperky inspirované africkou kulturou. Miluje vzory a textury. Moc se nám líbí také barevné kombinace na náušnicích. Julia říká, že si pouze chtěla vyzkoušet nové šablony, textury a techniky.
