Lisa Pavelka - Crackle Effect for Clay Surfaces
I always loved and collected Raku pottery and Batik fabrics. Long ago in an attempt to recreate the effect, I tried art products that were designed to create crackle on surfaces. These were typically two and three-part chemical mediums. They often turned out to be incompatible with polymer clay. This led me to experiment until I developed my own technique that I will offer in this short class. This method offered the ease and results I was hoping for and will share with you in a simplified version of my Faux Batik method. Students will leave the class knowing how to apply the crackle effect over any clay surface. Time permitting, a demonstration for utilizing crackled scraps for creating new work will be shown.

Lets think out of the box and lets stratch that possibility of the screenprinting technique on the polymer clay little bit further. Let's explore this technique and see what it can offer to the creative mind.
